Policy Tools (Permissions)

You can use the policy/permission tool to set a union’s immigration and emigration rules.
The policy/permission tool is started from the cluster tool, by selecting a union and then clicking the “permissions” button.

You can set up the following rules:

Immigration Unions: You can decide which unions can come to your planet.
Immigration Permissions: If you don’t want to give a whole union the right of entry, you can give permissions to selected people. permissions works like visas: they have an owner and a country to which they relate, and they can have an expiry date.
Emigration Unions: You can use these to prevent the members of a union from leaving.
Emigration Persons: Individual people are prevented from leaving.
Emigration Permissions: If you have prevented a union from leaving but would like to permit individual members of this union to emigrate, you can issue these members with an exit visa.

Writer Tool

You need the writer tool to write articles which you can submit to a publisher. When you have written an article, you can use the “send” button to submit it to one or more publishers.

Publisher Tool

When you have built a publisher, you have to manage it in order to produce eZines. The publisher is divided into two main areas: the “inbox” and the “next issue”. In the inbox area you can view the list of articles which have been submitted to you for publication.

To publish an article, you highlight the article and click the “next issue” button. The article then appears in the “next issue” area, where all the articles that will appear in the next issue of your eZine are listed.

When you want to publish an issue, set the price for a single copy and for a subscription and then click the “Publish” button.

This is how a new issue of the eZine is produced.

eZine Tool

The eZine tool allows you to buy and read eZines. You browse through eZines by selecting planets, eZines and issues. When you’ve done this you can buy an eZine by clicking the “buy issue” button. If you want to subscribe to an eZine, click the “subscribe zine” button. You can use “unsubscribe zine” to cancel the subscription, but this will not take effect until the subscription has expired. If you have bought an eZine, you can use “read article” to read the articles in the issue.
