Getting Started

If you want to play straight away, this is what you need to know...

Power Tokens
Power tokens are needed for the following actions: initiating a vote, closing a vote, changing the rulebook, accessing the asset of a cluster. There are 23 power tokens for each cluster; to carry out an action you need at least 15. If you have fewer than 15 power tokens, all other holders of power tokens will be asked if they agree to your action. The action will be carried out as soon as enough other people have approved your action and 15 power tokens have been accumulated.

When you form a new cluster you automatically receive all 23 power tokens. You can choose how to divide these up between the cluster members.

Assets
You can only transfer money to people who are in your address book (please keep in mind that they must first have given their addresses to you). Similarly you can only receive money if you have given your address to the person from whom it is to come.

In order to give someone your address, you need to be in the same grid coordinate as them (the player will appear in the persons list). Click on the player's name you want to give your address to. In the actions list select "give". Then navigate to, and click on, your address in the selection menu.

Messages
Messages can be up to 160 characters long and can only be sent to people whose addresses you have.

Clusters
Clusters are groups of people. They may be companies, parties, secret organisations or any other sort of community. Your cluster tool shows only the clusters to which you belong. Even the unionhead only sees the clusters of which he is a member – not all the ones which exist in his union.

You cannot invite people to join a cluster unless they first give their addresses to you. In order to give someone your address. You need to be in the same grid coordinate as him (he will appear in the persons list). Click on the player's name you want to give your address to. In the actions list select "give". Then navigate to and click on your address in the selection menu.

Workers
In order to build something you need force and credits. Credits (c) are the currency of the union and you use them to pay workers. If you don’t have enough money or force, you can no longer afford to build, and work will stop . The building will only become usable when it is finished. When building is finished you will receive a key for it in your inventory.

Wear
All buildings depreciate and become unusable. In order to prevent this you must have things repaired. Repairs are carried out by workers and cost credits and force.

Food
You must eat or your player will die from starvation (keep an eye on your health indicator at the top of the screen). In order to eat you need access to a converter (i.e. you must have the converter's key). If there isn't already a converter you must build one. In order to build a converter you need a refinery.

Converter
You use workers to build you a converter. You can get a pipe from a refinery connected to the converter, and after a short charging time your converter will supply force, which can be in the form of food.

Refineries
In order to connect a converter to a refinery, you must have the key to the refinery. If you are in the same building or the same area as the converter, you can select it with the refinery tool. The force quotient (fq) indicates how much force is being pumped to the converter. The higher the value, the more can be drawn off at once (but this means that the source will be used up more quickly). A refinery can last for a maximum of four days without repairs, then it becomes unusable and cannot supply any more force.
